Heinrich Kley

The German artist Heinrich Kley made drawings that sometimes coincide with the content of this site.
He was born in 1863 and died in 1945 in Munich.
Kley did many conventional works of art, but is best known for humorous or satirical pen drawings and cartoons.

Kley did some art inspired by mythology and fables.
Famous are his drawings with dancing anthropomorphic crocodiles and elephants.
Disney used this as a model for their animations.

Kley also does erotic art that contains human women and mythological creatures.
After 1933, Kley was forbidden to work by the Nazis. Because his art was considered dirty and decadent.
